Back on trail for another 50 miles
I really pushed myself on my first half, almost got 30 miles in one day, so a week of recovery to strengthen the legs was very welcome. Now, back on the trail and back in Amberly I pick up where I left off and continue east to Eastbourne.
Flora and forna
This short evening hike to my first camp of the weekend took me past so many wildflowers and meadows, as well as through plenty of agricultural land of course. I even saw a deer cross the trail. Already I could tell this half of the South Downs was going to be much more picturesque than the first.
This short section of trail took me back up onto the hills with a short walk past the car park. Once up on the downs the route here was steady and flat.
